The graffiti was written by Ugo Guarino. This is the last inscription by the artist still visible at the former psycihatric hospital Opp di San Giovanni. In 2015 the inscription was proclaimed as Cultural Heritage of the Province of Trieste. The dismantling of psychiatric hospitals was proposed by Italian psychiatrist Franco Basaglia, a pioneer of the modern concept of mental health.
