bio | Miguel A. López (Lima, 1983) is a writer, researcher and Chief Curator of TEOR/éTica and Lado V, San José, Costa Rica. His work investigates collaborative dynamics and transformations in the understanding of and engagement with politics in Latin America in recent decades, and also queer re-articulations of history from a Southern perspective. He has published in periodicals such as Afterall, ramona, Manifesta Journal, E-flux Journal, Art in America, Art Journal, ArtNexus, Journal of Visual Culture, The Exhibitionist, among others. He has recently curated the section "God is queer" for the 31st Sao Paulo Biennial (2015); "A Wandering Body. Sergio Zevallos in the Grupo Chaclacayo, 1982-1994" at the Lima Art Museum - MALI and Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart (2013-2014); “Losing Human Form. A seismic image of the 1980s in Latin America” at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid (with Red Conceptualismos del Sur, 2012–2013); and “Pulso Alterado” at the MUAC-UNAM, Mexico City (with Sol Henaro, 2013). He is the editor of Sergio Zevallos: The Obscene Death. Drawings 1982-1987(AMIL, 2015); Giuseppe Campuzano. Saturday Night Thriller y otros escritos 1998-2013 (Estruendomudo, 2013), a collection of writings by philosopher and drag-queen Giuseppe Campuzano; and a comprehensive catalogue on Peruvian conceptual artist Teresa Burga (2011, with Emilio Tarazona). López is a co-founder of the independent art space Bisagra in Lima, Peru.
