bio | Aida Sánchez de Serdio is an educator, researcher and cultural worker in the fields of visual culture, education and collaborative art practices. She holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts and she has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona for 15 years. She is currently an advisor to the departments of Education and Publics at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Spain. She also teaches at the MA and Ph.D. programme in Arts and Education at the University of Barcelona and is a member of the research group “Esbrina: subjectivity and contemporary educational environments”. She has been visiting lecturer at the University of Lisbon (Lisbon, Portugal), Goldsmiths College (London, UK), University of Umea (Umea, Sweden), University of the Republic (Montevideo, Uruguay), and the Arts College (Zurich Switzerland), among others. She is an author of many articles and book chapters exploring the relation between the arts, education and cultural politics. Besides her academic career, she has collaborated or been a member of a number of educational and cultural projects such as Friction Pedagogies at the Fundació Joan Miró, Contact Zones at La Virreina Centre de la Imatge, Dialogical Practices at Es Baluard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma, Transducers, Polièdrica, etc.
